had to sort the jockey wheel as it was too low so couldnt get it to car hitch , had to empty car boot to use the car jack, job done readjusted so i could use it properly
opened the cabin window and gave the boat a good airing all day . finally finished around 1630
didnt have time to do the mast windex install, do that next week
loaded what kit i wanted to keep on the boat the rest was brought home.
overall it is a project but the boat can be sailed once rigged.
the electronics look a bit sad and tired so i will rip them out and do a new cockpit fascia board varnished and then mouny the new Garmin striker vivid 4c a race watch and the nasa clipper wireless wind
the internal wiring i will completly renew , sttart afresh and use 12v 7ah sealed agm batterys which are very portable and should last a while, the boatttt did havea sollar panel so seew hat that can do
ive got a victron smart controller
oh well overall i can see the potential so im pleased , got it for a good price despite the problem with the trailer , that cost me £397 for the starboard wheel hub and bearing the left side needs doing as thats bad as well.
then the brakes need fixing on starboard side then the brake cables need renewing as they are rusty
for now get boat launched then sort later.
more rope can never have enough rope
to clean up before epoxy repairs
as i left my old lines on Black Magic ive had to replace them
a smaller power supply which can be taken off the boat very easy and recharged.
intended use to power the depth and speed log and wind index
all claiming to use about 17mah
prob mount this on a shelfconnected to a busbar which then will power them up. saves lugging a big 12 v battery around.
well now the fun can begin with gizmos tad expensive but why not
chose the wireless because its easier and only need to hook to 12v battery
well like with Black Magic new kit is always the case so
here are the items so far

i wanted a simple unit that gave a gps and navigation tool and also other usefull info as well.
so this gives
gps cords create waypoints
depth
speed
compass
water temperaturesonar of whats underneath
ie for fishing
i have no desire to fish but i did see on a youtube channel that a fish finder was a very usefull adition to a boat for a fraction of the cost.
so when racing i will know my speed if the onboard target 2 isnt working.
know the depth if the target 2 depth unit isnt working
create waypoints to navigate the course, so headings and distance to wpts are given if prev plotted.
the units on the boat atm are not wired up or not known if they work.
all target 2 units speed and log ; depth ; and wind speed and direction , head unit not fitted but a wireless unit has been purchased as a Nasa Clipper wireless unit .
an all in one unit will be goodand its portable. , the transducer can be located on the shaft of the electric motor or i will make up something myself
