new boat day.

well after a few months the day arrived.

early start 0725 bala 0900   then it was sort Black magic out get things out the locker and rub some woodwork down.

john H arrived and we set off to Carsington

we arrived 1250 after a good trip across.

the boat and andrew was waiting and we hada quick look at the other cruisers at the club. a few corribbees and a few eagle 525s

a quick look at the boat just to confirm what i had seen via photo.

a project on the inside but thats ok , its a sailing boat that can be sailed despite the cabin needing minor works.

we exchanged on the deal and we set off for home. John was surprised at the weight but the car did ok.

we had a god trip until wrexham and john said the tyre looked wobbly

we would pull in where we could.

a bit later he said somethings not right then said the wheels gone.

it literally came off with the hub still attached. we couldnt move as the brake assebly was now chewing tarmac

we called a rescue recovery Phil who came out really quickly, we were only 30 from Bala

he gave a a price .

he winched the boat onto his flat bed lorry with tilting sliding deck . on she went and off we went.

we arrived at bala at 1800 originally 1700  so we only lost an hour.

we got a spot to get the boat off and the last bit he winched it off with a tree , job done.

les who hasa skipper 17 turned up and helped . we said we would sort a plan sunday and get it up on stands. les actually did it friday which was very good of him

club mebers gave advice on where to get it sorted.

bdw trailers in corwen was local and called and explained

so Dale wilkinson said he would goto club  jack it up and remove source new and price up.

then do the reverse so it can be rigged and launched

overall very traumatic day, my worst fear happened. john was very good and helped alot.
